Timing of application question

Hello all
I will apply for BC+passport in March, I would like to know how long it min takes to get the letter for the biometrics, and how quick you need to act on that.
I am travelling from 31/3 for 3 weeks and don't want the letter to arrive let's say on 2/4 and I can only act on it when I return

I suppose it will depend aslo of how busy the NCS are when I enquire to book a date.
I'd like to have it out of the way asap and rather do it before my holidays, but maybe it is safer to wait till I'm back in the UK

TIA

Check out the recent timelines for December & January further down the forum.
It seems that biometrics letters are received within two weeks of application date.

I checked these, but I would like to know if the biometrics letter gives a time frame in which i will have to go to the PO

You have 15 working days from the date of letter to do biometrics. If you miss this there is another letter giving you 10 working days. After that the application will be invalid. Generally you also need to consider that UKVI may contact you for further queries, so at least have someone watch your mail, just in case. I believe you will also be given a time frame to reply (10 days, not sure).

Thanks for the info
I could wait till April to do it,as I will be back home but somehow I prefer applying before Brexit is triggered, not sure why, it is unsettling me.
I have no one to check my mail for 18 days, so need to think about it

Triggering Article 50 is just that - then there will be two years of negotiations after which the UK leaves the EU - that is the plan. Therefore no need to get stressed.

Citizenship law does not come under EU law so no changes are expected to the requirements as such, tweaking certainly from time to time.

Thanks for your reassurance
I might wait in this case
I have been in the UK 16 yrs but my PR has only been confirmed on the SARS doc as 2/3/2016.... so instead of appealing this wrong date, I just waited till the 5+1 yr has passed
