BRITISH CITIZENSHIP HELP

Hi and thank you for taking the time to read my post,
I am a French citizen who has been living in the UK since 1999. I was issued an old Residence Permit for a National of a Member State Of The EEC in 2000 which had expired in 2006. I had renewed it in 2006 and it says valid indefinitely. Does it count as proof of permanent resident and can I use this to apply for British citizenship?

Thank you in advance.

I expect this is the blue trifold card - Yes you can use this to apply!
Also add any letter you may have received from the Home Office.
Mine goes back many years before but no issue at all.
