Citizenship Application for queries

Greetings,

I and my wife are applying for British citizenship using AN form.
(5 years residence category with ILR)

I have few queries to confirm, I would be grateful for help and advise.

Referees: I would like to confirm if these will be ok as 2 Referees
1) Indian citizen, working as Architect in IT consultancy organisation.
2) British citizen, working as IT Manager in IT consultancy organisation.
3) I hope it is ok to have the above same referees for my and my wife applications together ?
They know us both for more than 3 years, not related to each other, just wanted to confirm above for my confidence.

Supporting documents:
For Employment details section, I am in employment on PAYE ( no self employment), do I need to provide any P60 / payslips ?

Looking forward to your kind advise, many thanks.

1) Indian citizen, working as Architect in IT consultancy organisation.
Is this person registered with the appropriate regulatory body for Architects? And when you say 'architect', do you mean the ones who design buildings etc?

So why do you think he will qualify as a referee?

He is Tech Architect (professional qualified Engineer) - so as accepted professional person he qualifies as referee, I hope it should be ok ?

When the list says 'architect', HO means the building/design type who are registered with their professional regulatory body. The same applies to 'Engineer', they must be registered with the relevant professional body. Most 'software/IT engineers' are not as it is not a regulated profession.

Does it mean IT Architect / Engineer working for IT company (like Infosys / Accenture / Wipro / TCS) is not accepted professional ?

No, it is not. Engineer means : civil/structural/electrical etc engineer and architect means the people who draw up building/house/bridge etc plans. A professional referee must be a registered member of the professional regulatory body.

If applying through NCS, then yes take the P60s with you but they might not submit the P60s.

Unemployed Redundant Citizenship Application

Hi, I am looking to apply for British Citizenship using AN form, I have been employed for over 10 years so can provide employment history.
My current role is being made redundant, so I will be unemployed in few days/weeks.

Please advise on: Will this impact my application in either case:
- if I apply now and I am made redundant after sending application ?
- if I make application after made redundant when I am unemployed ?

Thanks for help and advise.

No issue. You could provide an brief explanation in the 'Additional information' page of the form.

Employment is NOT a requirement for citizenship.

Where does the list refer to architect? I have read, reread and read the list again and it definitely does not include architect. Also called UKVI to confirm whether I can use an architect (as in the generally accepted type of architect who designs buildings) and they simply said that they could not advise me to use a person with a profession that is not in the list in Annex A to Chapter 6 and my case could be refused as a result. (Note, it was a "we cannot advise you to..." not a "you cannot").

Used to be on the list. It must have been updated by HO.

Hi, Please advise on one more question on AN form:
1.16 is Present Address, and 1.17 is Addresses for past 5 years.
In 1.17 - should this start from current address or should it be previous before current address please?
Many thanks.

1.17 - start with the ne before the current stated in 1.16

I was going to ask the same question, thanks alterhase58.
It seemed redundant to input the address from 1.16 again in 1.17, although the wording is a bit confusing (1.17 asks about addresses in the past 5 years. It should probably ask for "other / previous addresses").

Thanks, will consider 1.17 as previous addresses after current address in 1.16.

- Do I need to take prepaid envelops for NCS to post my application ?
Thanks
