Dear Members,

I am looking for some guidance for application of British Citizenship for my minor child who is born outside UK and born before I came to UK. The required details are as follows:

I am holding ILR and will be applying for British Citizenship in July 2017. My wife & my son are holding Dependent visa & I have not applied for their ILR as they have not stayed in UK for long and did not satisfy no of days residence criteria.

Now I am intending to apply for British Citizenship for my child alongwith me and looking for guidance as follows:

1. Can I apply for British Citizenship if my child born out of UK & has not stayed in UK for long?
2. Is ILR required for my child before application of British citizenship?
2. If I can apply for citizenship of my child, which form I should use?
3. If my child's application is rejected, will get the refund of fees and how much?

Thanks in advance,
Nilesh.

Children born outside the UK have the same immigration status as the less-privileged parent and can be registered as a British citizen when one parent either is a British citizen or is applying to become a British citizen and both the child and the other parent have ILR.
