Treaty rights passport application employment history

I don't have all my P60s, so basically will have to find another way of proving that I've exercised my treaty rights for 5 or more years. I read somewhere that people have used the "Employment history" letter as a substitute to their p60s but applying for work permits and other similar documents (not passport).
Has anyone used an "Employment history" letter as a substitute to their p60 applying for British passport for themselves or their child?

You need to be British citizen to apply for a passport - what application are you actually filling in?

I think the original poster is probably referring to applying for naturalisation.

I didn't have my P60s or P45s when applying for naturalisation, but I used letters from my employers to confirm my start and finish dates for the qualifying period. It was fine, my application was approved.
