Questions regarding Naturalisation

Hi All,

I came to UK in 2007 on HSMP visa (later on converted to Tier1 General). I got ILR in 2012 and the citizenship in 2013. My wife got ILR with me in 2012 but could not apply for naturalisation because she did not meet the residence requirement.

Now she has been living in the UK for last three years and as being (my) spouse of British Citizen, she is going to apply for naturalisation.

I have two questions:

1. According to the above details, does she qualify now to apply for naturalisation?
2. She passed Adult Literacy Level 1 in 2010. The test was conducted by City & Guild and Ofqual. Would this certificate be enough to fulfill the language requirement?

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your reply.

She passed the Life in the UK test in 2012 which was a requirement for getting ILR at that time, I think.

Would she need to take the life in the UK test again?

No, she does not. She need English B1 though.

Hi,

Just a follow up question - can you please confirm if the below is right test for naturalisation:

IELTS Life Skills B1

The test is being conducted by British Council Birmingham and they are charging a test fee of £150.

Thanks

Yes it is, and £150 is the standard fee.
