Hi Guys

I am here again after last time when I asked you abuout my ILR application. I hope to receive same guidance/help as you guys did in my last application.

I am applying for naturalization on the basis of 5 years ILR. My ILR was issued on 30.06.2016. I have got following documents ready
Passport
BRP Card
Life in UK test
English Language test
2 Referee+Pictures

I have got following questions

1 - Is it ok to send application on 02/03rd june by NCS ? (even if it says that you can apply after 12 months) . I was told by my lawyer that you can apply within 28 days
2 - On the application form, it has list of documents that I need to submit. After that do i need to submit any other documents like Payslips, qualifications, employment record etc ?
3- I am asking one of my accountant for reference. Is it like a qualified accountant or just any accountant ?

4 - Do i need to submit any other kind of documents that may help my application?

5 - What is the most preferred way, NCS or individual application by myself ?

I would really appreciate any help :)

Thanks

Mohsin

I can only answer some of your questions as I don't know the answers to all of them.

1 - Is it ok to send application on 02/03rd june by NCS ? (even if it says that you can apply after 12 months) . I was told by my lawyer that you can apply within 28 days

You should consider getting a new lawyer if they told you that as that is not true! You can apply within 28 days for ILR, not for naturalisation. If your ILR was issued from 30/06/2016 then you can only apply from 01/07/2017. If you apply before then your application will be refused/invalid and you could lose the money you paid.

2 - On the application form, it has list of documents that I need to submit. After that do i need to submit any other documents like Payslips, qualifications, employment record etc ?
If you can provide the documents the Home Office ask for, you'll be fine. If they need more documents or info from you, they will write to you.

5 - What is the most preferred way, NCS or individual application by myself ?
I see no reason to not use NCS. They can spot accidental errors and omissions on your application form, and through NCS you can also apply for a passport at the same time (NCS JCAP). If your naturalisation application is successful, this means you won't have to attend an interview for your first UK passport.

Good luck!

Thanks

I was not sure about the 28 days either and that;s why I asked.

It seems that I have to wait another month now. I was really hoping to get this done this month.. but can wait one more month..

Also I forget to ask one thing

I need to provide 5 years history of my passport and travel.. Now my current passport is from 2015-2020 . I have lost the one from 2010-2015 but I have the 1st one from 2005-2010.

Is that going to create any problem for me ?

Thanks

Mohsin

The 28-days-before concession only applies to applications under the Immigration Rules. Naturalisation is not a part of the immigration pathway and is under different rules and different laws. Therefore, you can apply only after completing a year after ILR.

You will need alternate proof of your presence in the UK for those five years (2010-2015) for which you have lost your passport. Remember that you must prove that you were in the UK at the start of the five year period immediatly preceding the date of application.

If your ILR was issued on 30/06/2016, you can apply on or after 30/06/2017 and if you apply on that date, you must prove that you were in the UK on 01/07/2012.
