kids nationalities migrated from Pakistan last year

hi

posting on behalf of my friend who need urgent advise
his kids moved in last year from Pakistan with ILR on their passport
they are here for almost an year ( completing in next month)
one of his friends told him the kids have to be in the united kingdom for at least two years before they can apply for naturalization , as long as he was aware it was only 1 year

any help would be appreciated

How old are the children?

Is your friend British?

What is the other parents immigration status?

he is british
wife passed last year( she was back home ) so its only dad working full time

age is

1st 16
2nd 14
3rd 12

Older children are expected to have at least 2 years residence to qualify for citizenship.

That is also assuming that their 'visas' state Indefinite Leave to Enter and is not in face a child settlement visa valid for 2.5 years.
