Hi, I have received DCRP in April 2017 with letter stating that I have acquired my permanent residence status in UK on 01/05/2016. (applied for BC on 01/07/2017).

The question is - Since I have sent my blue DCRP card, will they be able to see that my status has been acquired more than year ago or they require letter which came with DCPR?
Because when I was reading about documentation needed to be sent, there was nothing about this letter.
I would be grateful if anyone could clarify on this topic.

Hi strawberryzester, did you do a postal app instead of using the Nationality Checking Service (NCS)?

In any event, there is no need to submit the cover letter stating your date of "deemed acquisition" as long as you have provided the DCPR itself. These deemed date letters are themselves quite novel - until a couple of months ago, the HO didn't bother telling applicants the date of deemed acquisition of PR status, and applicants had to resort to either using the NCS or making a Subject Access Request for data disclosure where there was any doubt as to the date.

Long story cut short, if you acquired PR on 1/5/16 that will be the date recorded on your digital file on the General Case Information Database which your caseworker will check. They won't need the letter, keep it for your reference. Good luck with the application.

I did postal on my own, just got curious about aspect of DCPR and its accompanying letter.

I just hope in nearby future all of this process will be simplified and digitalized, so when you do online, it shows exactly what you need to send and exactly how many days/months/years are left for specific requirements instead of sending application and praying for everything to be alright.

Don't worry - naturalisation is actually a pretty straightforward process and many make a fuss over nothing (which is understandable, given the fees involved...), the documentary requirements are pretty minimal. If you look at the citizenship requirements in other countries, I think the UK system is pretty easygoing by comparison. But UKVI is working on increasing digitisation, in particular as regards EEA applications. Best of luck.
