Hi,
I have my UK citizenship ceremony in the morning and will surrender my Indian passport in the afternoon.

Section 3 of UK passport application asks to send all non-cancelled passports when applying for UK passport.

1. Can i apply for UK passport right after the ceremony or wait till I receive a confirmation that my Indian passport is cancelled (and so don't have to include it in my application for UK passport).

OR
2. Should i first submit my Indian passport for the UK passport application, get my UK passport and then surrender my Indian passport?

I prefer to surrender my Indian passport first as i need to get a Indian visa stamped on UK pspt for travel.

Thanks

It is always wiser to err on the side of caution. Better to have two valid passports than none, in case of unexpected occurrences.

As a British citizen, you should get an e-visa for India relatively easily and quickly.

Yes, makes more sense that way.
Thanks.
