Hello

pls I need your help regarding my daughters British pp

I got my flr(fp) as parent fo british child and I don't have any contact with the father. Initailly when we got her passport, he gave his passport page as proof of father in 2013. However, her pp is going to expire next year in 2018 and ive not spoken to the father since.

Can I apply to the passport office without his details as its just a renewal and they already have this details from the first application or I have to get his passport page from him as well?

Thank you

They should normally renew the passport without asking for British citizenship to be re-evidenced- but you never know. In any case, you'll have to make the application and find out.

If father was born in the U.K. you should be able to get a copy of his birth certificate, although if he was born before 1983 you may need details of his parents too.

Regardless of whether or not the passport is easily renewed this time- you should assemble a file with all information relevant to your child's British citizenship and ensure that it is kept permanently. In case British citizenship ever has to be evidenced in the future. And always keep expired passports, do not throw them away.
