Born to non-British parents

Hi all,
I am currently 17. I was born in zimbabwe to non-British parents. We've been living in the UK for about 13 years and we all have indefinite leave to remain. I just want to find out If I'm eligible to register as a child for British Citizenship. I have no British heritage or anything.

They
expect a parent to naturalise too. However, there was a sucessful
challenge for reconsideration.

My father did apply for naturalisation but wasn't successful, does that change anything?

Probably no. However, citing the
judgment and its reasons may help.
Alternatively, if you satisfy the
KoLL requirements, etc., then
naturalise when you are 18.

Your father could have register you at the same time and express an I intention for you to be registered under 3 (1), even if he does not qualify for settlement.
If your dad is refused for something like character, it will not automatically lead to your refusal.

Father applied for naturalisation and was refused [which is unusual]- but what about the mother?
For stand-alone applications for section 3(1) registration from those aged 17, see section 9.17.11 of the Nationality Instructions:
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... 150402.pdf
If neither parent is becoming British then usually it will be simpler (for a 17 year old) to wait until 18th birthday and apply for naturalisation on own merits but there may be exceptions.
Register as a child since Mother is applying to Naturalise

I'm 17 years old and was born outside the UK to non-British parents. We have no British heritage either. My Mother plans to apply for Naturalisation in October and I think her application will be approved. Because she is going to make an application, does that mean I am able to make an application alongside hers as a child registering and be likely approved? If not, am I able to naturalise as an under 18?

What's father's status?
Do you have ILR?
How long have you been in the UK?
