Hi

I got granted ILR but I'm not sure of couple of concerns

1) I came to UK 15 years ago and after my case failed I became absconder but I was never told to report so I just kept studying and working even I did not have work permit - I told Home Office though when I asked to reconsider my case through legacy cases ,
My worry is if there would be something on my file that affects naturalisation application?

I have no offences though ...

2) is the 12 month wait compolsury

Thank You

1. If you had no visa status before being granted DLR in 2011, you risk being refused for citizenship for being an illegal migrant unless you apply in 2021, 10 years form date of DLR being granted. You also risk being refused for working when you had no visa permitting you to work. These would be refusals under the good charachter requirement.

2. Yes it is compulsory, you have to wait the full 12 month usually. The ONLY exception is if you are married to a British Citizen then you don't have to wait. No special rules or concession for you unfortunately.

Thank You CR001 - I had another question if possible please as I don't want to start a new topic :
Section 3 on form MN1 asks about parents residence and says "say which parent is the one who is british citizen by descent and on whom the application is based

Mother or father

But none of us is british yet - I'm the one settled on ILR
What do I do please or do I leave this section empty ?

Section 3 is not relevant to MN1 for UK born children.

You alread have a topic asking about MN1, please continue your MN1 questions there.
