Hi,

I'm a British Citizen and got BP. My wife & daughter (8 years old) got ILR since 2014.

What are the forms i need to fill in and fees. I'm asking this as im hearing, for my daughter i have a different option (Just Register??) and so fees might be less? Not sure about this process, hence if someone had done similar process, kindly guide.

And for my wife's application it has to be full fees? or any other process/fees structure since she is a spouse of British Citizen?

You wife applies using Form AN and pays £1282. There is no discount for being the spouse of a British citizen; people who apply as spouses of a BC only have to fulfil a three year residence requirement (instead of five years for everyone else) and can apply for citizenship as soon as they have indefinite leave to remain or permanent residence, instead of having to wait a full year. It doesn't sound like either of these benefits will matter to your wife, since she has held ILR since 2014.

You register your child using Form MN1. It will cost £973.

My wife & Daughter (8 years old) were outside UK during 14-Dec-2015 to 21-Sep-2016 (283 Days).
So i presume, i cant apply for their citizenship now? and need to wait until FEB 2019 (roughly) without any further breaks? to satisfy this Rule: "spent no more than 270 days outside the UK in those 3 years"

Problem now: They might need to go out of country again (Oct/Nov 2017) to take care of elderly parents back in India. Duration of stay in india is not in our hand, as it is to take care of elderly parents. But we are conscious they might not be able to stay beyond 24 months else ILR will be cancelled.

My wife/daughter got their ILR (APR 2014) and since then they have spent 283 days outside UK and now they might go out again for lets say 15 months. We understand this would further delay their Citizenship process, which is ok in current situation.

Question: When they are back after 15 months, how likely it is for the Immigration to deny entry (though they have ILR) stating their pattern of being outside UK is in quite longer periods. Is there a way to secure their entry back in to UK prior to their departure on the grounds they need to take care of elderly parents (my parents).

Please suggest anyother options.

Where was your daughter born? Would such long absences not affect her schooling?

Child registration does not have absence requirements.

If you look at the past five years, how many absences does your wife have in the past five years? Was she physically present in the UK at the start of the five year period (list her absences in 2012)?

Why is it necessary for your wife to take care of your parents in person? Can you not pay for help in your country of origin?
