MNI process for child born in the UK in 2006 but lives abroad

I am asking this question on someone else's behalf, and hoping if the respected community members can help.

I am a British Citizen and am living in Dubai. My daughter who is now 11 years old was born in the UK in 2006. At that time I did not have an ILR or British Citizenship.

In order for my daughter to get british citizenship, what is the simplest process? Does she have to spend the mandatory 2 years period in UK, or can she just be registered as a british citizen now?

Appreciate all the help here.

Since you are now a British citizen and she was born in the U.K., she can be registered as a British citizen. As long as application is made before age 18 and she meets the good character requirements.

Does she have another citizenship and if so, will she retain or lose this upon becoming British?

Hi,

She has a non-EU citizenship and will keep that citizenship.

Can she just come on a visit visa an apply for the naturalisation?

Regards,

She can visit the U.K. if she has the appropriate passport and entry visa (if required)- and if admitted by an Immigration Officer on arrival. However, submission of an application for registration as a British citizen does not in itself give any entitlement to move to the United Kingdom.
