Dear members

please kindly advise, my cousin is about to apply for naturalisation but is worried if the good character requirements will affect her.

Brief history:

Non EEA citizen Married in Jan 2010 to EEA national outside Europe, came in through Ireland and has lost the passport that was stamped. Can't locate itinerary as well.

Has applied for residence card back in 2010, approved April 2010. PR also approved.

But worried as she cannot prove legal entry in 2010 to UK. Has a police report of lost passport.

Q1. Will the 10 year apply to her as she cannot prove by passport entry date?

Q2. Since she is a family member of an EU citizen prior to entry does it matter that she cannot prove entry date for naturalization?

Find a good immigration solicitor. Please check out the Law Society website and check out their ratings, phone around for rates and advice.

I do not think your cousin needs to worry about that if she entered legally 10 yrs ago. HO should have record of when the visa was issued. Besides you are only required to provide documents for the last 6 yrs for naturalization. She should have an idea of the month that she entered UK

Last 5* years, unless I am mistaken?

Correct tallahassee, Citizenship is based on the 5 years immediately preceding form AN application.

The 6 years document I meant is your 5yrs PR card which will be dated 6 yrs preceding your naturalization.
