Hi,

I'm a Kenyan citizen with an indefinite leave to remain in the UK and I want to apply for a British Passport. Could you please advise if I have to apply for Biometric card first before I apply for Neutralization to enable me to apply for a British Passport. I'm really confused at this whole process . PLEASE HELP - Many thanks in advance

You don't need to have a biometric card, as long as you can prove your leave to remain (Home Office letter, stamps in passport, etc).
After you apply you will be requested to give your biometric data (photo, fingerprints, signature), but that is a standard requirement for all applicants (no card will be issued).

See also Citizenship Frequently Asked Questions (click)

You do not need to apply for a BRP card first.

You cannot apply directly for a British Passport. Citizenship and Passport are two separate processes and applications.

You must be a citizen before you will get a passport.
