Are there any salary requirements for self-employed person? My earnings are not big and thus have not been paying any tax or NI? I have been in continuous employment over the past 20 years just not earning very much.

Thank you.

There is no income requirement for citizenship.

Do you have a document certifying PR (presumably as you appear to be from Croatia)??? Or ILR under the UK immigration rules??

Than you for your reply.

I was granted Indefinite leave to remain in 1998.

I am not familiar with all the terminology. This new application process is so complicated.

ILR = Indefinite Leave to Remain.

If you have had no extended absences from the UK in the last 5 years, then you should be fine.

No income requirement for citizenship.

No long term absences of any kind.

I am only worried about low earnings as a self-employed person.

Would if be beneficial to show accounting books etc., in addition to the latest Self-Assessment from HMRC?

Thank you.

There is no mandatory requirement to be employed or have any earnings. Simply follow the requirements in the form and guidance notes to apply.

This is confusing.

Why are they asking for 'Evidence of Tax for Self-employed applicants then?

Low earners do not pay tax or NI?

If you have done your self assessments and they show 'zero', then submit them.
