Hello friends,

I entered UK lawfully in Sept 2006 on student visa which was converted to post study work visa in Feb 2008 for two years. In 2010 I applied for my work permit for 3 years and 2013 I got another 2years of work permit. Lately successfully in FEB 2015 I finally got my Indefinite leave to remain in UK. But then left UK in April 2015 for 22 months and returned Feb 2017. From that date a lawyer told me that I have wait for another 12months in order get the citizenship but I was reading AN booklet for citizenship guide about 450 days outside UK. In my qualifying period of five years from 2010 till 2015 I was didn't cross the limit of staying overseas more than 450days but I did cross that after getting my ILR. Will that be considered a drawback reason for my application to get refused? As I am planning to apply fory citizenship in first week of march.

Will appreciate all kind of advise. Also do I need a lawyer to handle my case or I can do it by myself?

Regards

The absence limits relate to the period of five years working back from the date of the AN application - there is no other qualifying period. You should calculate when might satisfy the limit, especially the 90 days max in the year before application.
