Hello all

My Turkish friend with ILR about 6 years now. His ex died in Turkey recently and he managed to bring his only son 17 years old to UK.
he has got settlement visa ILR indefinite stamped on his card expiring in 2024.

Can he apply for naturalisation for his son or he has to wait 5 years?

How long has the son been in the UK on his current ILE??

They expect children over 13 to reside in the UK for at least 2 years before registering and the parent being British or applying for citizenship too.

Unfortunately, if he is over 18 by that time, then he would have to naturalise. Naturalisation requires at least 5 years residency in the UK.
