Redundancy

Hi all,
I was ready to send my application for the British Nationality but I've been told I'm being made redundant. Can I still apply? The Home Office does not list being employed at the time of applying as one of the requirements for the nationality. So I'm assuming I can still apply, but has anyone heard differently?

Shall I enrol as a Job Seeker in order to prove residence since the time my employment ends? Or can I get a letter from a doctor or anyone else as long as it prove I'm here in the UK?

I'm EU national with Permanent Residence.

Many thanks.

Employment is NOT mandatory for citizenship.

Thank you very much for your reply. I submitted my application end of February and I'm waiting to hear from the Home office. Unfortunately I still haven't found a new job and I'd like to apply for Job Seeker Allowance, but I"m concern it might have a negative impact on my application for the nationality.

Would you know if claiming JSA can affect my application in a negative way?

Thank you very much in advance.

Claiming benefits will not affect application as you are entitled to claim if you hold ILR/PR.
