My baby born on 03/02/2018 and my status was ILR at that time, now after 4 days I had british ceremoney at 7th Feb 2018 and I have to return back my ILR biometric card within 5 working days.

For baby's passport , i don't know what should i submit, the ceremony certificate or Copy of ILR, as i have to return back the origianl BPR.

Please advise !

JAJ wrote: A better approach- if the Passport Office refuse to accept a copy of the BRP- might be to contact your Member of Parliament and ask him or her to request from the Home Office Minister a reason why they are demanding an original of a document that someone is obliged to send back to the Home Office. (unreasonable request for documentation). The Passport Office is an agency of the Home Office and should be able to contact the Home Office to verify that the copy is true.

I have contact passport office and they required original ILR.

I have contacted UKBA they said i have to send back the ILR to home office otherwise they will fine me 1000 pounds.

Home office adviser said they can't suggest anything it's completely up to me to return them or pay the fine .. the only option i have is to write a letter to "Naturalisation BRP Returns" and explain them the situation.

I am worried and confuse what to do.

Apply for baby's passport using one week fast track asap. Once you get passport, send BRP card back but make sure you keep certified copies.

No one on the forum has so far reported receiving a fine for not returning the BRP.

ILR as you were not British at the time of the child's birth.

Sure, thanks, i was thinking to send both , because on 7th i have got British citizenship certificate, now i am not sure by the time passport office will see my ILR and check , it might not valid as I have got citizenship.

and I can't send back BPR within 5 working days as I have to apply for my baby's passport and they only accept original document.

The ILR only has to be valid at the time of baby’s birth.
