British citizenship for EU couple - few questions

Hi. After my trip next week I will send off my British citizenship application. I've resided continuously for 13 years, got a PR document passed all the tests and I am of good character. My partner however has a little more complicated case than me. We are both EU nationals.

Myself:
I'm ready to send off my application as soon as I won't need my passport. I got my PR certificate in Jan 2017 and renewed my passport in Dec 2017. Should I send the old passport as well or will the PR certificate and new, valid passport suffice?

Partner:
He was just granted PR, yet to do the language and life tests. He will not apply until April just to be on the safe side of residency requirement, otherwise it would be cutting it a bit too close. I also have a concern regarding his temporary (90-something days) US work permit he has in his passport. If he fulfills the other residency requirements, a foreign temporary work permit won't matter, right? He was granted PR.

Thanks

1. Submit new passport and of course PR document.
2. If partner has not been away for more than 90 days in the year before, i.e. counting back from the AN application that should be fine.
