Naturalization after ILR approval (if salary reduce due to down sizing)

Hi,

I need an advice from gurus

I have recently got ILR in december 2017 and i will be applying for naturalization next year in december. My ILR was on TIER 2 based on 35000 salary Criteria however my company has started down sizing and they are saying we are reducing salaries and offering me 25000/annum or i can leave to get another job. I am worried now if i stay with them and apply natulization next year would there be any issue in getting natulisation done if salary is reduced from 35000 to 25000?

I will try to find another job soon but if not found would 25000 will cause any issue ?

please advise thanks

Employment is not mandatory for citizenship, neither is there a minimum salary requirement.

However, if your salary was inflated on tier 2 to meet the ILR requirements and then dropped back down soon after getting ILR, it might be risky if HO feel there was any kind of deception etc for ILR.

If I were you, I wouldn't do the same job for £10,000 less in my pocket. I would just move on specially when I am not restricted by terms of Tier 2,3,4,5,6 or what ever.

If your salary was increased to 35,000 just before you applied, and it is reduced to 25,000 for the same number of hours, it looks very suspicious. How long before ILR did your salary rise above 35,000? Are you still doing the same number of hours, or are you going part time?

Thanks for your reply

No it wasn't inflated just before the ILR application, i started with £35000/annum from year 1 till 5th year it was same £35000, but now they are offering 25000

not sure if HO will take this as deception or not?,
i am trying to find other job but not sure if it will take one month or 4-5 months to find the other job so meanwhile i will be on 25000 salary and not sure if that will make any issue at the time of naturalization

No it's not

i got TIER 2 on 35000/annum and till 5th year it was same 35000

but now it's reducing to 25000 from 35000, yes same number of hours

Does it make any difference if number of hours are also reduced along with salary from 35000 to 25000.

I meant if there is no requirement of employment then it doesn't matter if applicant has started part time now instead of full time and his salary is reduced from 35000 to 25000?

Thanks Sir

Does it matter if applicant was doing part time after ILR or full time?

Is this a requirement for naturalization to be on full time employment?

I think you have already been advised, your employment arrangements post ILR, or no employment, are not an issue.

hi msohaib25,

How is your preparation for the BC application going? Have your circumstances changed since you last mentioned about your salary situation?
