Is it true that if my local council is not conducting private ceremonies, I canNOT go to another council in another borough to book the ceremony? So I am stuck?

You can't book a ceremony in any council other than the one specified in the invitation letter. If you want to change it, the Home Office will have to be notified and the be council be allocated. It's going to take a while.

Have you already specified which Council where you want to attend your ceremony?

If you have and now want to change this, your Council will have to return your invitation to the HO, who will then send your confirmation of BC to the new Council. This can then result in a longer delay than attending a group ceremony at the original Council.

Delay of a couple of months due to full bookings perhaps. Some councils only do one public ceremony per month, others do one per week.
