4 Penalty notice in a year

Hi all,

I am making my naturalization application very soon. i am bit concerned about my good requirements. I have 4 penalty notices in 2014, all in a year.

1. 2 x Bus Lane fine.
2. 1 x speeding ticket.
3. 1 x congestion charge fine(London police).

all fines were paid on time and nothing after 2014, now its been more than 3 years as well. No court conviction or anything.

do you guys think this will affect my good character? also, do i need to disclose this?

Kindly advise.

Kind Regards
Nav

I feel it will be at the subjective discretion of your caseworker.

I do not think this was the case in the past. Looking at the board FAQ for good character requirement (link below) it stated that "FPN (often given for minor motoring offences such as speeding) is not a conviction and will not be grounds for refusal unless the applicant has received numerous FPNs in the last 12 months. Therefore, you should wait until you have no more one FPN in the last 12 months before applying"

www.immigrationboards.com/british-citiz ... 05532.html

I believe that the board FAQ should be updated as the HO good character guide was updated in Nov 2017 ( applies to decisions taken from 11/12/14) and is no longer the case.

Ok. Thanks. Its just that I dont want money on this application.

Worst case even if it gets rejected, I am presuming they would mentiom when it would be best to apply next? I mean the date when these penalties will be invalid.

should be ok to apply naturalisation on 2018. as they are not conviction but fpn. after 3 years they should be forfeited.

Ok. Thanks. I was bit concerned about what they haven't mentioned in section 3.8 of the link above. They do say that they is a chance of refusal even when some FPNs are 3 years old.

Arent bus lane fines etc PCNs rather than FPNs?
And the guide talks about FPNs - not PCNs.

A PCN is against your Car Reg - like your car was in parked over time limit and you get a fine against that car reg.

However with FCN - your DL is asked and DVLA has a record for it - and you either get points or not - depending on offence & situation.

So in my opinion PCNs should not be an issue as they should not reflect your character. Driving w/o insurance - speeding etc can harm others - hence reflects your character. BUT got delayed to get back to the car park in time because the little one wanted to use the toilet last minute :) does not reflects ones good/bad character - hence PCN should not be an issue.

Correct me Please?

Thanks Man. I think you are correct. I personally think the Pcn's shouldn't even be disclosed.
