Hi All,

I have received a approval letter from HO(as mentioned in earlier post) giving me info about my local council to book a ceremony appointment.

I have ringed them and booked an appointment which is one month away from now. The council staff told me that no email confirmation will be sent and that I should present myself at least 10 min the specified time. . Seeing the columns in our TIMELINES thread I now cannot understand what is a ceremony letter is, Will it be sent by local council or HO? If so what details it will have?

Appreciate your response or a link if such info already exist but my search results did not help me.Thanks in advance

There are two types of letters :

1. Approval and invitation letter combined (as you have received).

2. Approval letter and a SEPARATE ceremony letter (which is not applicable to you).

Thanks you very much for clarifying. I will now no longer worry about any other letter, just waiting for my ceremony

Our council sent an email to confirm, with details etc. They call you in to check your details before you go into ceremony. Usually refreshments before and after, and a passport holder for your new British passport, if the council is generous
