Registering a child as a BC without a previous passport

My son was born in UK and I am an Indian citizen who is on a Tier 2 general visa. I am eligible for ILR in January 2019 and I am thinking of waiting till then to process my son's documents. I believe MN1 is the only route for him to register as BC once I get my ILR.

My question is whether it would different registering him as a BC if he has an Indian passport or even no passport at all (ie. if I don't register him as an Indian citizen). Would the time spent in the UK without registering as an Indian citizen matter while he is applying to register as a BC?

It makes no difference whether he has an indian passport or not.

A UK born child has an entitlement to register, is not subject to absence limits and period of not holding a visa is not a negative point either.
