Hi guys .
I’m wondering when can I apply for citizenship.
I Came into uk in 2008 and got married in 2014 and got ilr in 2018 on basis of long residency. Because I got ilr on basis of long residency not through spouse visa So can I apply for citizenship straight away as a spouse of British citizen ?
Any advice would be helpful and please send ukba links where can I read more details .
Thanku

Thanks for reply .
I have read this link but for confirmation I have asked few solicitors , some say I can And some Can’t .
There argument is that I got ilr on long residency so this is different category, it’s got nothing to do a British spouse .
Confused ? Just don’t want to waste my Home office fee .

If you hold ILR now and are married to a British citizen now and comply with all other requirements you can apply now.

Refer to Page 3 Section A of the AN Requirements Booklet from the Home Office - I expect you have reviewed this already. You DO have ILR, irrespective of what it is called, it means you are free from immigration restrictions which is one of the conditions to satisfy.
