Brp card sent along passport application

Hi i submitted my British Passport application via post office, Lady in post office told me i have to send my Brp cad along my passport application they will destroy your card i dont have to cut and post, as she said its her every day job iam worried if i didnt have to send along passport application i would be fined for £1000
what shall i do if they fined me or would they destroy Brp by themself?

Fore passport application you only need to include your certificate and uncancelled passports. As far as I know BRP is not required - you return it yourself to the address provided in the AN application.

Thanks for your reply you think i will get fine because passport office wont sent me back with in 5 days?

Forgot to mention in my post i had Brp under Eea on Brp it says : Residence card of family member of a union citizen "
will i get fine notification?

It was not required to send your BRP card and it is also not required to return a BRP card issued under the EEA rules.
