British Citizenship with Naturalised Parent

Hello everyone,

I've had difficulty finding information clarifying my situation and request valuable help from people more knowledgeable than I in these matters.

I was born in the Philippines in 1996.
My mother and father were unmarried when I was born and later separated. Both were only citizens of the Philippines at the time of my birth.

My mother married a man (A Philippine citizen) in the Philippines and they had children. My mother and her new family left me in the Philippines and they immigrated to the UK. They had children in the UK too.

My mother and her husband later naturalized as British along with all their UK born children.

At the time of my mothers naturalization I was still under 18.

I am currently over 18 and living in the Philippines with my father.
Can I to apply to naturalize or register as a British citizen?

I would greatly appreciate any advice on my situation.
Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately not through your mother. She would have had to be British at the time of your birth for any benefit to you.

As you are now over 18, you also cannot apply for a child settlement visa, which would have been possible if you were under 18.

You would require a qualifying visa with 5 years residence and then ILR before you could apply for citizenship.
