Where and when was he born? Where and when were you born?
What was his status before his "registration"?
Is he a British Overseas territories Citizen or a British Citizen (one is not automatically the other)?
Did he acquire his citizenship before or after your birth?

My father was born 1953 in Turks and Caicos Islands. I was born in Canada in 1985. Before his registration he was a British overseas territories citizen. He is now a British Citizen as well. He has dual citizenship I would say because he still has his Turks and Caicos passport as well.
I found this on a wikipedia page
"The status of British Overseas Territories citizen (BOTC) relates to persons holding British nationality by virtue of a connection with a British Overseas Territory (BOT). Nearly all BOTCs are also British citizens as a result of the changes made to British nationality law in 2002."
He acquired his citizenship after my birth.
