Citizenship for child of ILR parent

Hi. I recently got my ILR and we have a baby due soon. Our records with midwife/nhs have my old details that I’m on tier 2.

I will get those updated.

Now from online research I understand that if either parent issettled the baby gets automatic citizenship.

But looking at the MN documentation confuses me. My question is, will I have to APPLY in any way telling home office that I’m ILR and this my child so he should be citizen. Or at birth his certificate mentions citizenship or something similar (provided I get my info updated from Tier 2 to ILR )

Thanks

If the child is born in the UK, the child is automatically British. You simply apply for a passport. Nothing else you have to do or notification etc.

The birth certificate won't mention his citizenship or your immigration status!

Surprisingly, HO do actually know the rules!!!
