Homeless and risk of losing passport

Good evening
Will I lose my passport if I get divorced? I received it four months ago and the marriage has been genuine but it's over. I don't have any family here and my friends are in different cities, I don't have a baby and no job, will I be homeless? I am confused and lost and don't know where to go or ask

No! You have been free from immigration control since being granted ILR. You have the same privileges as all British citizens.
You may want to seek free advice at your local Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) on what benefits/housing you may be entitled if you are unemployed and later your rights if you and your wife separate or divorce.

Thank you so much for replying, where do I go or ask? I don't know anything really and I am terrified I don't want to be homeless and I have two dogs that are my only family

You won't lose your British citizenship. I know it must be stressful but you're worrying needlessly. Focus on rebuilding your life.

You may well be entitled to housing, or at least temporary accommodation. The Citizens Advice Bureau will be able to advise you on this.
Remember, as the saying goes,
'the darkest hour is just before the dawn'.

A tip from a friend I can recommend....look at yourself in the mirror and say out loud 10 times 'Everything will be OK' You'll find it calming

I called the Civil legal advice and the citizens advice bureau and both told me I might qualify for some benefits, I have less than 6 weeks to find an accomodation now and I hope they can help.
