Baby Born to Parents With ILR

Hello,

My husband and I both have ILR and have just had a baby. Can I confirm that our baby is automatically British by birth since the parents have ILR? If this is the case, can I confirm that we simply have to register the baby as a UK citizen via this website weblink removed by moderator (rather than apply for British citizenship via the Home Office?)

Thank you,

Congrats on the new arrival.
Baby is British and go straight for passport (no need to specially register - except for birth certificate).
Apply direct to HMPO https://www.gov.uk/get-a-child-passport - DO NOT use that web address you quoted which is a business and will charge you more than you need to pay!

Only if the baby is born in the UK.

Thank you again. Our baby was born in London. So it sounds like given that he was born in the UK, and my husband and I both have ILR, he qualifies
