Hello, As new system of aplication is in place-online + appointment, I would like to know if old paper version is still valid. I mean if applied old way I need to go to post office to do biometrics and thats it? No appointment needed- am I correct ? and as counils dont do checks service any more there is no way to apply for passport at the same time ?
Thank you for all help- you guys are amazing

Someone mentioned the other day that the old service is still active, meaning you can fill the online application, select the old/existing service and the you will need to go to the Post Office to do your biometrics (using the pdf letter you receive immediately upon application submission) and also send your evidence via post.
Not sure if the pure postal application route is still working. Someone else might advise on that. If it still works, the difference here is you have to send them a paper application with your evidence in post, wait some time (weeks?) until you receive an invitation to do biometrics and only then you can go to the Post Office. Not sure if the overall timescale changes because of that or not, I wouldn't think drastically.
In both of the above options, you have to send in your original passport, no appointments are needed (and hence no one checks your documents for correctness at this stage of the application).
It is not possible anymore to apply for naturalisation and passport any longer, you need to wait until you attend the ceremony and receive your naturalisation certificate and only then can apply for British passport.

Forgot to mention you will need to print your pdf biometrics letter, because the Post Office are not able to scan the barcode from a mobile phone.
