Strange problem: Biometrics requested after already completing enrollment.

Hello, I am hoping someone might be able to shed some light on my situation. First, a few details:

Application type: UKM
Country of Residence: Costa Rica
Application Date: Nov 15, 2018.
Biometrics requested: December 4, 2018.
Biometrics completed: December 19, 2018. Panama VAC.

After I completed my biometrics in Panama (Dec 19), I received a letter (Jan 3, 2019) from the nationality team stating that my biometrics were pending and that they had to be completed or else my application could get cancelled. Evidently I was very confused as I had already completed my enrollment two weeks prior.

I should note that the second biometric request came from: NationalityBiometrics@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk and the first from: NationalityBiometricsOverseas@homeoffice.gov.uk. I wrote to both emails and attached a copy of my biometrics enrollment receipt, but I have not received a reply so far.

Has anyone exeperieced this problem? Any advice or feedback is appreciated.

This happened to me with our citizenship application. We had a letter requesting biometrics after our appointment with UKVCAS. I also emailed UKVI and was told about three days later that it was an error.

As I didn't want to risk our application being delayed we ended up re-doing the biometrics before the email reply though.

UKM British citizenship application abroad is completely different to the process you followed through UKVCAS in the UK for form AN.

Thanks for sharing! If you don't mind me asking, what email did you contact them at? I tried NationalityBiometricsOverseas@homeoffice.gov.uk and NationalityBiometrics@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk but I have not received a reply in almost 3 weeks.

User ama1234 applied for citizenship on form AN within the UK and the biometrics letter is downloadable once the online form is complete. The physical letter they received is an automated generated letter for biometrics.
