Hi everyone,

Sorry if this has been asked before I couldn't find anything specific to this.

In July 2018 I recieved a fixed penalty of 6 points no insurance and paid the fixed penalty straight away. I'm due to apply for my citizenship but my solicitor has told me I cannot apply until 3years due to the fixed penalty.
I'm slightly confused as the guide states it will not be taken into account unless:
I have failed to pay
I have received 3 or more fixed penalty or:
In last 3 years I recieved 2 fixed penalty.

I have only recieved the one fixed penalty and one pcn in November 2018.

The guide published for home office staff states only if an applicant has recieved a number of fixed penalties and unsuccessful challenges in court will be taken into account regarding good character.

Can I confirm that I'm OK to apply for citizenship now or do I need to wait for 3 years.

In February 2017 I have received FPN for speeding at motorway SP50 - 3 points and £100.
Put everything into my citizenship application, which recently has been approved.
Can't understand why your FPN should stop you from applying .

Because they mention higher fixed penalty which I got 6points and £300 fine. But I only got one fixed penalty solicitor told me I have to wait 3 years because of the fixed penalty.
