British Passport for Child under 16 - One parent on ILR

Hi,

I am on ILR from 2018 January (5 year route) status and my wife is on PBS Dependent Tier 2 category status where as my son was born on Jan 2019 . So as per my understanding I can apply for UK Passport for my son by providing my ILR BRP as a proof and I don't need to register my son for citizenship. Is that correct? Could someone please confirm.

Many thanks in advance

If your son was born in the UK after you had acquired ILR, then you are correct that your son can apply directly for a British Passport.

@Simon,

Many thanks for your quick update. Yes, my son born in UK on Jan 2019 and I am holding ILR status from 2018 on wards so I hope my son is eligible for applying British Passport.

Thank you for confirming.
