Hello,

I am looking for advise what is the best route to get British Citizenship/ British Passport for second Child/Mother. Following is the scenario,
Dad - On ILR since 2015
Mother - On Dependent Visa ( Expired on Oct 2018)
First Child - Born inside UK so has British Passport
Second Child - Born Outside UK Dec 2018.

Mother left UK in August 2018 and went to Home country ( India) for delivery of the Second Child. So in this scenario what is the best suggestions/ Advise to bring back the Mother and Second Child and get their British Citizenship?

1. Should we have to start from dependent Visa route for both Mother and Baby on the 5 year route to get into ILR route and then get British Passport?
2. Is there any other options or eligibility for the second Child than wait for 6 years to get British Passport?
3. Does MN1 apply in this case?

Eagerly Waiting for experts Reply. Thank you.

1. Yes, Spouse and child settlement visas on form VAF4A and Appendix 2. £1523 each visa fee plus £1200 each IHS fee.

2. Not really, child will follow the same 5 year route as your spouse. Child would have been automatically British had the child been born in the UK and would have been able to apply for a British passport directly. Bit of an expensive exercise to have the child abroad.

3. No, the child has no entitlement to register as British.
