BC for my 2.5 year old daughter

Hi,

I recently applied for my ILR and got an approval from HO. Following my application i am planning to apply for my daughter's BC.

She is UK born, I got my ILR through the Tier 2 Work permit route. I need help and guidance regarding following:

1) Does form MN1 (Section 1(3)) apply in my case?

2) If yes, this needs me to submit two references, and i am using the new online application form. Is there a template for reference letters that i can use?

3) She is 2.5, we are planning to get a reference from our GP and second one from a family friend who is a BC. Does his profession matter?

Many thanks in advance!

1. Yes, it applies to UK born children when EITHER parent is granted ILR.

2. The reference pages are part of the online process.

3. Should be fine. You only need ONE professional referee of any nationality and ONE other referee who is British. Both must be over 25 years of age.

Many thanks CR001 for quick response.

Just checked the application form (online) it has a reference form at the 'Declaration stage'. :) :)

Just one more quick one, can i check, time it takes for application processing?

Thanks!!

Thanks again.

I just spoke with our GP and Health visitor both of them said they don't provide references.

My landlady is a lecturer, can i use one reference from her and the other from a British Citizen?

Thanks!

Hi CR001,

I looked at this list and there is no GP as part of this list.

One of my friends father is a GP and we thought we could provide his reference as my daughter's GP refused to provide a reference.

Thanks
Nitin

Thanks alterhase58, i looked at the link you shared and users have confirmed GP's (Dr) references still work.
Any specific instance you might have seen where it would have not worked?

Thanks
Nitin

GPs are not on the current list - so could be refused, even if some applicaants get waved through.

Hi I used my friend who is a GP as a professional refree last year for my son MN1 and it was approved without any issue in 4 weeks.
