Hi guys,
I am British citizen, My wife is American,but she was living with me in London on Dependent visa (expiring August 2019) but then we decided our baby to be born in USA.Baby born in USA in March 2019, I am wondering now how can baby get British passport.
Keep in Mind my wife still have a valid UK visa and she is US citizen, some one told me if we apply from within UK, we don't have to pay excessive fee just a normal passport fees.
Can a 3 month baby travel with mother and enter as general visitor in UK on American passport and then we apply for British passport for baby, or should we apply from NEW YORK. also my wife is out of UK from October onwards as her visa extention is due on August 2019 nearly 11 months absence would it effect on her visa extension or will break continuous residency clause?

How did you acquire your British citizenship?

Staying more than 10 years legally and on Tier 1 as well.

It's not for me, it's for my newly born baby, who is American by birth.

Your child is also British by descent if born to you, who is British otherwise than by descent.

Simply apply for a passport.
