Hi guys. I am asking for a friend. He has been on ILR for 6 years and has been separated a few years now. He acquired his ILR as the wife’s dependent.

They are currently not in good terms and has no communication at all.

Question is if he can now apply for his British Citizenship now and if so which form does he need to use. Thanks very much for all your help.

With ILR held and complying with all requirements for naturalisation he can apply in his own right. There is no ILR dependent status. There is no issue with the marital arrangements.
