Hi,
I am grateful for this informative site and it's proffesional advisers. I am a spouse with a permanent residence status. My husband is a naturalized British citizen and our child has PR but was born abroad before we got our PR statuses. We are thinking to apply for naturalisation for me and our daughter as а spouse of a British citizen and as a child born abroad. I have some questions now and later when I fill an online application will have more.

1. Can we use the same referee as a second referee for both of us?
2. Does the referee need to know the child for 3 + years or can it be recent?
3. Is a dentist appropriate as a referee? Can i use a different profession other than doctor, teacher and minister
of religion for example an accountant?
4. My husband is self employed. Does he need to provide a Tax return for this year( the last one)?
5. Do we need defferent appointments for biometrics and documents or we can book one for both of us? Does
my husband need to be at the appointment?

Thank you in advance!

3. Your professional referee must be one on the official HO list. Page 24 in link below.

Thank you for the fast reply!
I could not understand your "yes" for my question 2 for 3+ years or for recently known.

Thank you. I am confused as I can not find a clear statemunt about 3+ knowing a child to be a referee. Does the referee form for children states 3 years?

When I did my 17 year old daughter, I remember it was 2 years I think. The forms/guidance might have changed since then.

I forgot to write that I am self employed and I am not ready with my Tax return for this year. I have for the previous years. Do I need to do it before applaying for Naturalisation? Can I submit my Self Assessment statement only or I need to add Tax Return for this year?

Employment is not mandatory for citizenship neither is it required to provide all the repeat documents as for ILR.

You simply need to include what the form and checklist asks for.
