Supporting Documents & Application Reception Date

Hi,
I'm in the process of submitting my online naturalisation form and I wanted some advice from someone that has gone through the process as the HO website doesn't have answers to my questions and when I called them they didn't know either.
1. If I understand correctly you submit the form online (no need to print, sign and send it) and you only send the supporting documents. Am I right thinking that the day of the online submission is considered as the date HO received the form and not the date they receive the documents? (I am asking because of the requirement to have physical presence in the UK exactly 5 years from the date the HO receives the application)
2. How long do you have to submit the supporting documents after the online application submission? They were unable to tell me on the phone.

1. Correct. Date of application is the date you submit and pay online.
2. It varies but must be before your UKCVAS appointment.

I wasn't aware of the UKVCAS service as I thought that I need to post the documents directly to the HO. I just read about this service on another post on the forum.

1. Likely once you have the ukcvas link to log in.
