Difference in referee requirements between naturalisation and Passport.

It seems to me that referee requirements are more strict for Naturalisation applications.
Is that the case or are they exactly the same.

I've read reports of people using a librarian as a countersignatory for their passports but can't remember if that was their first passport or when renewing.

For passports, regardless of first or renewal, it must be a professional referee.

Is it only one referee needed for all passports of a whole family?

Also can this referee be the same one who was used for the naturalisation application?

1. You should post in your own topic as has been asked previously!!!

2. Each passport form needs a referee. It can be the same person!

For some reason a Driving Instructor is not on the list for acceptable passport countersignatories but is on the list for Naturalisation.

I suppose the lists are not a definite guide.
