MN1 form application

Hi There

I am also new to this board.

I am in the middle of applying for my 4 year old sons citizenship, and need some assistance with the letter of consent that is requested to be submitted along with the other documents on the MN1 application. Does anyone know what information is required to be listed in this letter, or have an example of the letter they would be able to share with me please?

I was born in South Africa to a British born dad (1960), and have held my Citizenship/passport since I was a little girl. I lived in the UK for a total of 14 years prior to returning to SA with my husband, and my son was born in South Africa. We have since returned to the UK in August 2017 and are now busy with his application. He doesn't qualify for double descent, but qualifies for Citizenship due to the fact I lived in the UK for 3 consecutive years prior to his birth.

This letter is the last document we are after, and we are keen to submit this application as soon as possible.

I tried to find a Nationality Checking Service, but have seen that this is a service that is no longer offered through local councils.

I would appreciate any help any one can offer.

Hi There

I am new to this board and in the middle of doing my 4 year old sons MN1 Citizenship application.

The application asks for a reference who is a professional person and a British Citizen. We have had our dentist agree to stand as referee, but she holds an Irish passport and lives permanently in England. Would this be accepted, or will I need to find another referee who is a BP holder? Does the referee have to know the child personally?

It also asks for a letter of consent to be hand written and signed by both parents. What content is needed in this letter, and can it not be typed out, printed and signed rather than hand written?

The professional referee can be any nationality. The other referee must be British.

Both referees need to know the child.

Not sure if you will be able to see the screenshots, which are examples of the consent letter to be completed by hand.
