British passport after Naturalization(Cover letter)

Hi dear members
I am applying first passport after Naturalization but I have lost passport which I entered in Uk do I need to write cover letter please reply thanks

You could write a cover letter, however that isn't going to be enough to support your application. If you are unable to provide the lost passport they will ask you to provide evidence of residence of your time in the United Kingdom, So if it is possible to go to your issuing embassy to collect a new passport, then that would skip you having to provide alternative evidence. The poster is applying for a British passport
AFTER naturalisation. There is no alternative evidence or letter required.
Only current and uncancelled passports need to be submitted. The one you entered on is only required
IF an applicant still has it!!!
