I need help please

I was on student visa tier 4 before i got refugee status for 5 years and then got indefinite leave to remain and now I’m applying for the citizenship

I posted my application and supporting documents by post

But now I’m wondering if there’s any fees for citizenship application for refugee??

Nothing on the AN form suggests so, and if there is then how do you do it?

I’m very confused and stressed now

Please help

Thank you

Yes there is a fee, £1330. You should have completed the fee leaflet. No fee exemption for citizenship applications.

When did you apply?

Why didnt you apply online and use the new ukcvas service as you then get to keep original documents?

You will need to pay at the post office to enrol biometrics.

The paper applications were withdrawn as was applying by post for applications within the UK, as far as I am aware.

I can find the paper fee leaflet and not sure if it is still available due to applications now done online.

Do I just go to post office to enrol biometrics or I should wait for HO letter to do it?

Thanks again in advance!

You wait for the letter from HO as you need the letter to go to the post office.

However without you having sent payment, your application will likely be sent back as invalid if HO don't write to you to ask for payment.

Which paper form did you use exactly? As the one available is for applications outside the UK.

I think you should have applied online. Page 1 of the AN form clearly states :
Form AN
Application for naturalisation as a British citizen
To be used by people in the Channel Islands, Isle of Man and British
overseas territories, and by people who live elsewhere and want to apply by post

Unlikely as the paper applications were withdrawn in November last year and all forms are online now.

I called the HO today and they confirmed that i can still use the paper form and to post the fee asap however it’s better to use online as you get reference number and you keep your own original documents

Hi yes you can still use the paper form as on the AN form page it says you can use this form if you live elsewhere and want to apply by post. It never say you cannot apply by post of you live in UK. I applied by post last month and money taken out of my account as well. So its definitely still valid and people can use it if they are willing to send their original documents to home office. I hope it helps.

Thank you for your input to the post and it’s much appreciated

Since you used paper as well Can you please let me know how much shall i ask them to debt my card? Is it only the application fees (£1330) or I should add more money like for biometrics as well?

In my case they received my application 3 days ago with fees paper missing. Can I still post it?

Any help would be great!

You only pay £1330 to home office. The biometric fee if £19-20 you pay at the post office when you go with the letter.

Thank you I’d be lost completely without this site!
I wonder now why it’s so difficult to display these information on their website........not to mention on the application form and the form guidelines there’s nothing about fees.. smh

You couldn't have read the guidance notes then as it is clearly mentioned on page 3 with a link to the fee leaflet.

The AN guidance must read as well as the AN booklet usually as they contain all the information.

You’re very helpful. Do you think I could still post the fee slip?

You need a case reference number before sending anything otherwise it cannot be paired with your application.

HO will likely write to you asking for payment

This is wise thank you

I was also thinking of posting it along with the post office reference number (copy of receipt of the previous original application) so you think this is good to pair it?

Thanks in advance

Post office reference number is irrelevant for ho to match a letter with your application.
