Urgent Help -Awaiting for Court summon - will it affect my application

Hi

I got stopped by the police on the motorway and issued a ticket for Middle Lane hogging. This incident happened on 10-Feb-2019. I was traveling in the middle lane and it was not safe for me to get into the leftmost lane. Less than 2 min there was a motorway exit route so I was avoiding getting into the leftmost lane. The speed I was traveling 70-mile.

I got a letter on 24-March-2019 with an incorrect incident date ie 13-Feb-2019. The letter asking me to pay 100£ fine within 28 days or me to challenge in the court. It will cost three points in the license. I called the call center and reported the incorrect incident date details.

They told me the date will be corrected and the penalty notice will be reissued. They have given another 28 days to make the payment, in the due course no action will be taken.

The next letter I got 15-May-2019 with correction of the incident date on the first page of the letter.
In the back side of the page (where payment reference number was given) again had wrong incident date ie 10-Feb-2019 instead of 10-feb-2019.

I tried to make the payment on 27-May-2019 and system was showing an error. I called the call center again. They told me they can see the letter been reissued again however the ticket has gone to the next stage and I will be getting a court summons. There are unable to correct the system and the only option available for me is reply to the court summon. The call center people not at all helpful and I going through a lot of stress.

I tried to contact a few lawyers and I'm unable to manage the fee they are asking me to take my case.

Please advice me. Should I accept the court summon and make the payment (it will be more now) or is there any other option for me.

I have mentioned in the application that I have received the FPN with the wrong date and I'm waiting for the correction.

Please, I am kindly requesting for some advice on my naturalization application.

Thanks
A

Just curious. Why make an issue about the date when you accept guilt? You could just Pay the fine which you had decided to do without appealing. Getting the date of incident changed would not make any material difference anywhere.

When I was about me make the payment first instance I have noticed the date was different. I reported this to the number which was in the notice. They have told me to await for the next notice with the correct date
when I received the system is not accepting the payment.

I am ready to make the payment anytime when the system is ready to accept my payment.

Sorry to state but your over caution or your desire for preciseness has caused you loss of money and stress. If you wanted to pay you should have just paid. The date error could be for many reasons. Like it may be because the violation is entered 3 days after the incident and its a human error. You wanted the specific day on the letter and it has now caused you a lot of problems. In my opinion, I dont think it affects your application because you have not defaulted yet.

Yes, that's very true. I was over couscous due to this citizenship application.

I am planning to reply to court summons with the notice details and copy of the notice. However, in the notice, it clearly says no action will be taken next 28 day but as per the call center, it has been moved to the next stage. the ie court summons, I am paying the price for the call center person manual error.

Unfortunately, I don't have any proof other than the printout of trying to make the payment within 28 days of payment and system message.

I dont think there is a problem. Nonpayment is an issue if its pending for a while. But if one wants to challenge a ticket or appeal its not considerd non payment. That will not affect your application unless there are many cases of rash driving against you.#
Dont panic its not going to be a big problem.

Thank you. I was ready to do the payment due to the admin error the payment was getting declined. Now it's gone to court summons and I'm waiting for the summons. The latest (resent) FPN first page updated with the correct incident date however the second page still have the wrong incident date.

I am planning to reply to court with the whole story and will mention the incident date in the FPN is wrong, no such incident happened on that day.

I would suggest you stop complicating matters. The date on the FPN is not going to change anything. Once the fine is paid it will show in the paid column and the case will be considered closed. Why are u running around chasing trivia? If there is another way to pay the fine like going to the court or elsewhere just go and pay it and finish the matter. You are causing stress to yourself.

Hi

My first passport expired and got a new passport now. Do I need to scan my old passport pages as well or only the current passport is needed for BC application?.

To cover my 5 years of travel history I need to include both, don't I?

Thanks

1. Please do not tag your questions onto other members topics. Keep your questions in your own thread (this one).

2. You need to scan them covering the last 5 years.
